Accessibility

Digital accessibility was an important part of CRNY’s work to advance the lives and livelihoods of New York’s artists and culture bearers. This site features alt-text for images and captions on videos. PDF files hosted on this site are tagged and structured for access using the PDF/UA-1 standard. Certain materials feature American Sign Language, Spanish interpretation, and plain language. Links to external sites open in new tabs. Both Guaranteed Income for Artists and Artist Employment program applications were made available in the top eleven languages spoken across New York State.

Although CRNY has sunsetted, we hope our work with Deaf and disabled artists can support longer-term advancements toward more meaningful access.
