Alicia Cook
Alicia Cook is Wolf Clan of the Kanienkehaka Nation, Mohawk
LPN, and Master of Traditional Medicine with the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe in Upstate New York.
She specializes in teaching about culturally important plants and their uses as food and medicine. Alicia works to build curriculum and ways of thinking that will promote and protect food sovereignty, and traditional plant knowledge.
She works closely with the Environment Department to help identify traditional medicines that have been contaminated by waste from three major companies in the Akwesasne area with the aim to promote land wellness and cleanup of contaminated areas.
Alicia supports strengthening of women. Through traditional teachings she has brought back the most sacred of all moon lodge teachings and continues to excel with re-connecting women back to Sky Woman and Roles and Responsibilities of Women.
