Carrie Hill is an Akwesasne black ash and sweetgrass fancy basket artist who comes from a long line of basket weavers. When Carrie isn’t teaching workshops to other indigenous students and communities or demonstrating at various events, she can be found in her studio preparing for art markets that she loves to attend. She also utilizes the traditional weaving techniques taught by her aunt to make woven sculptures, jewelry, and other woven items.
