Christina Picciano

Christina Picciano is a queer musician, activist, and community organizer from Ossining, New York. Her work explores the intersection of art and advocacy, using her music and organizational efforts to inspire and empower the LGBTQ+ community in Westchester and beyond. A self-taught multi-instrumentalist, she leads the band All My Friends, using music to explore themes of queerness and identity.

A recipient of the Creatives Rebuild NY Artist Employment Grant, she has spent two years with The LOFT LGBTQ+ Community Center in White Plains, implementing arts programming such as Queer Voices, a group that supports LGBTQ+ musicians of all ages, and LOFT Night Out, a monthly community nightlife event celebrating queer art and culture. Her outreach efforts with The LOFT LGBTQ+ have reached over 5,000 community members in two years. In 2018, she established the Ossining LGBTQ+ Alliance, working with elected officials, nonprofit organizations and local businesses to amplify visibility and advocate for the queer community in Ossining. Most notably, she collaborated with the Village of Ossining to implement the state’s first municipal gender-neutral bathroom signage policy and contributed to the local police reform efforts to protect the LGBTQ+ community. Her community events, ranging from drag performances and flag raisings to Queeraoke nights, have been dedicated to fostering trust, community engagement, and visibility.
