Janio Marrero

Born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Janio moved to New York in 2000 to pursue a career in theater. He has performed, directed, and produced Off-Broadway theater since 2003. Janio held Facilities Director, Technical Director, Production Manager, and Producing Director positions before being promoted to Cherry Lane Theatre’s Co-Artistic Director, for two years.

Janio is an Interview Panelist for the Administrative Fellowship Program at Harlem Stage, a Producer for The Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival, Executive Director for the Latinx Playwrights Circle of NYC, Founder of the Indestructible: Campaign, Producing Director for the Power Grid Festival, Board President of Roots and Action/ Raices y Accion. Janio is a member of the F.U.C.T. comedy troupe were he directed, wrote and performed for over 15 years.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre from Fordham University with honors in Directing, Producing and Performance Concentration.
