Jayme Bermudez is a dance and theater artist with over 20 years of experience in Positive Youth Development and the Arts. The arts saved him as a youth growing up in the inner city when he faced all the textbook disparities. Teaching artistic expression allows him to heal from past traumas and in turn creates a platform for a younger generation to learn how to heal.
Jayme Bermudez started as a dancer in his late teens, and later became a part of the Movida Dance Company, where he taught and performed as a principal dancer for 15 years. Jayme Bermudez later branched out into creating his own dance company for at-risk youth.
Jayme Bermudez now works with Borinquen Dance Theatre as the assistant Artistic Director and is looking forward to creating more platforms for BIPOC artist in his new role with Borinquen Dance Theatre.
