Joel Knopf

Joel Weber Knopf is a composer/lyricist whose music has been featured on NPR’s The Uncertain Hour podcast. His musical “The Last Ibex” was produced at the Colorado New Music Festival (Wellspring Theater), was a finalist for the 2023 NAPSeries competition (top 10 of 550 shows), and was developed in part at off-off-Broadway theater The Tank in New York City. A participant in the 2022-23 BMI musical theater workshop, Joel’s original shows “Unadmissions: A Law School Musical” and “God and Xylophones” have been performed at new works events in California and New York City. Joel served as music director for Agile Rascal Bicycle Touring Theater, composing music for a new environmentally themed show created as Artists-in-Residence in the Everglades. Joel holds a JD from Harvard Law but is definitely not a lawyer.
