Kārlis Bergs

Kārlis Bergs is a Latvian born filmmaker and editor based in Brooklyn, NY. Bergs’ two feature documentary films currently in progress, “”Weeping Rocks”” and “”Water Into Land,”” garnered him the Creatives Rebuild New York Artist Employment Grant (2022), USA National Science Foundation Grant (2023) and the Allan Sekula Social Documentary grant (2020). Additionally, “Weeping Rocks” was selected for Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival lab (2022). Bergs is the editor of “Family Portrait,” directed by Lucy Kerr, which premiered at Locarno Film Festival (2023). His short documentary film “The Threshold” (2020) premiered in Riga IFF and screened at the Tacoma Film Festival, among other places.
