Muhammad Zaman
Muhammad Zaman is an urban artist specializing in calligraphy. Over the years, he developed a unique style that incorporates the three languages that define his identity. Fascinated by languages, lettering, and calligraphy from a young age, Zaman aims to inspire harmony and mutual understanding through his art. His works, featuring words in English, Bengali, and Arabic, often include at least one recognizable word, inviting viewers to decode the message and connect deeply with his art.
Zaman was part of commongroundartists.com, an interfaith organization promoting peace through the arts. As a member of Buffalo Arts Studio, he has given public speeches at universities, schools, art galleries, and museums, discussing art and its connection to the community. One notable mural was created in People’s Park in Buffalo, with the help of children from the Salvation Army.
Zaman has collectors worldwide and was a finalist at the Luxembourg Art Prize in 2017. He was named “Artist of the Year 2019” by Arts Services Initiative of WNY, Inc.
