Tiffany Zorrilla

Tiffany Zorrilla, known as “Lola Libre,” is a multi-disciplinary artist who creates performance art exploring the role of technology and digital colonialism. Her work examines the dynamics of digital spaces and the influence of online media on social structures through bias, such as in her project “BUYME” (2023 – present). Libre focuses on using her body in performance to find form rather than materiality, and she employs mixed media to convey narratives about healing both interpersonal and external worlds, as seen in her works “HOW IT FEELS”(2022), “HOLD” (2022), and “COG DIS” (2021). Libre is a recipient of the Creatives Rebuild New York (CRNY) artist employment program, which provided two years of employment funding for 300 artists working with community-based organizations throughout New York State. Her work has been supported by various organizations including Creatives Rebuild New York, the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, the Mellon Foundation, and the Henry Street Settlement.

Since 2016, Libre has been a member of Perfect City, a community arts-based organization. Perfect City focuses on housing justice for marginalized communities of color, empowering them to reshape their neighborhoods through their experiences and influence policy changes. The project uses creative mapping exercises to encourage place-making and asks city-dwellers to think like city planners to create cities that reflect their essential needs. Perfect City prioritizes communal city-building and strives to ensure inclusive and equitable spaces are accessible to the most marginalized. Libre is also pursuing an MFA in the Digital and Interdisciplinary Arts Program (DIAP).
