Trish Gianakis

Trish Gianakis is an immersive artist, professor, and art director with over 20 years of experience. Her innovative artworks blend technology with physical sculptures and have earned national and international recognition. She holds a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Computer Art Installation from the School of Visual Arts in New York City and has remained at the forefront of digital art and technology throughout her career. Additionally, she is an Emmy Award winner for on-air graphics created for an NBC documentary, and her expertise in user experience design has led her to collaborate with major organizations such as Major League Baseball, AMC TV, and prominent artists like Elton John and Queen Latifah.

In the summer of 2022, Gianakis was selected for a two-year artist-in-residence program at BronxNet TV, where she collaborated on building an advanced XR/VR/AR Lab and Video Production Studio. Her projects included an augmented reality tour showcasing famous figures from the Bronx, an NFT commemorating BronxNet TV’s 35th anniversary, and a collection of NFTs celebrating 50 years of Hip-Hop.

For her final project, Trish worked on virtual reality set designs for several themes. Such as Halloween Special, broadcast news, Eco Leaders sci-fi set, hip-hop, and Bronx culture, offering a futuristic, immersive experience. Her final design featured a floating stage suspended in mid-air, surrounded by neon-lit pathways and an open-pit fire, with panoramic windows displaying iconic Bronx landmarks. While working on BronxNet TV projects, Trish also created her iconic “Mother Earth” piece which resides in a virtual reality setting of her Art World, featured at NFT.NYC and in Times Square. Mother Earth is currently on view at Saint Peter’s University.
