The Collaboration
Nadeem Ahmed, Annie Ferdous, and Zarrin Maisha continued their strong partnership with the Bangladesh Institute of Performing Arts (BIPA) as teachers, collaborators, and creators over the past two years. The artists each championed different aspects of Bangladeshi culture through their work at BIPA. Nadeem specialized in music, using it as a platform to explore and reflect on social issues including shows that focused on LGBTQIA+ stories. Annie focused on traditional dance forms by preserving and teaching them to younger generations. Zarrin’s highlight on intentionality and mental health underscored the importance of holistic well-being in artistic communities, advocating for a supportive environment where creativity thrives. Together, their efforts have not only enriched BIPA but also promoted a deeper understanding and appreciation of Bangladeshi arts and culture. BIPA looks forward to their continued collaboration and the future achievements that will undoubtedly inspire and elevate the cultural landscape of Bangladeshi Americans and beyond.
