The Collaboration
Timmy Gleen worked with Making Fishers of Men and Women to utilize film to tell stories, bringing people of different fields and backgrounds together towards an overall goal. He provided hands-on training for youth interested in filmmaking, inspiring them to document community moments to help tell a story. The culminating project will be a documentary film about Making Fishers. As a former youth participant of the program, Timmy’s return as an adult mentor makes him a living model of what youth can strive to be.
The Organization
The mission of Making Fishers of Men & Women is to prepare youth to be self-sufficient, positive, and a contributing force to the community in which they live by providing them with the tools to do so. They strive to make services more accessible to youth by giving them access to technology, positive adult role models, opportunities to make meaningful and long lasting impacts to the community along with paid internships, educational, and recreational opportunities.
