The Collaboration
The Living Archive Project was a multidisciplinary collaboration led by Christina Hunt Wood, in partnership with the Roxbury Arts Group and various artists, community members, and organizations in the rural Otsego and Delaware Counties of the Northern Catskills. The project amplified diverse voices, including those of at-risk youth, BIPOC, and LGBTQIA+ people, through interviews and multidisciplinary storytelling workshops. These workshops encompassed songwriting, creative nonfiction, audio arts, and visual storytelling. The resulting work was featured in exhibitions, special events, and media productions, including podcasts, a web-based archive, and the documentary series “”A Living Archive: The Upper Catskills.””
The Organization
Founded in 1979, the Roxbury Arts Group is a non-profit multi-arts organization dedicated to making the arts an integral part of the life of all segments of Catskill communities by offering public performances, exhibitions, workshops, classes, presentations and demonstrations for both adults and children; distributing grants to Delaware County artists and artistic projects and providing services to them and other not-for-profit cultural organizations; and creating opportunities for the artists and the larger community of the region to engage with each other.
