The Collaboration

Karlene Familio, Maurice John Jr., Hilton Johnny-John, Jocelyn Jones, Penelope Minner, Patrick Redeye, Cliff Redeye III, Tami Watt, and Leeora White worked with the Seneca-Iroquois National Museum on leading a variety of classes and workshops for the Seneca communities and the Western New York region while working to enhance the exhibits of the museum. The artists came together to form “Good Medicine Creatives,” a satellite location of the museum featuring a gallery and space for classes and workshops where each artist could share their respective craft with intergenerational participants, from youth to elders. The artists had the chance to participate in trainings to strengthen their own practices and increase their exposure, with many going on to win awards in art competitions and film festivals.
