NYS Regional Briefs - Creatives Rebuild New York

CRNY partnered with Center for an Urban Future (CUF) to create 10 region-specific briefs—one for each economic development region of New York State—including Western New York, Finger Lakes, Southern Tier, Central New York, Mohawk Valley, Capital Region, Mid-Hudson, New York City, Long Island, and North Country. These briefs are intended to mobilize support from key state and local policymakers for specific policy recommendations put forward by CUF and CRNY.

Each brief will serve as a data-filled snapshot detailing the vital and growing role of artists and arts organizations as a catalyst for regional economic vitality. Data from CRNY’s Portrait of New York State Artists survey and CUF’s Upstate’s Creative Spark report will provide a valuable reference point for local and statewide policymakers, while also giving advocates, artists, and cultural organizations easy-to-grab data points and policy recommendations that they can use in advocacy campaigns and fundraising proposals.

Coming soon! The briefs will be released throughout 2025, both here and on CUF’s website.
